The Red Devils U10 team ran its record to 3-0 Sunday down in Dartmouth MA, just north of the equator.  Originally the game was scheduled for Normandin, a lush turf field in the suburbs of New Bedford, only to be moved to the local poison ivy bog in Dartmouth.  The poor field did not deter the Reds, as they quickly jumped in front in the opening minutes.  Goals were scored by Nathan N who notched a pair, Tor, Damain, Mike, Ryan, Jonny and many others, including a great sliding shot by Calvin and a free kick by Ethan.  The Oceaneers battled back by feeding the ball to their large left footed striker who promptly booted two home by Rob C, (who did a great job in net) but once the Reds defense, spearheaded by Nathan W, Jackson, and Damain, forced the Oceaneer striker to his weaker right foot, the Oceaneers were not up to the task. Jared N took the pipes in the second half, and was never threatened.  Next up is a doubleheader at Merchant Sunday.

The U14 boys also endured horrid field conditions and the absence of their defenders John, Matt, and Matt who were on loan to the local lacrosse and skydiving clubs.  Igor Lemos returned from his chicken injury and poor knees to spark several offensive forays, and finally with about 12 minutes left the blue cleated wonder boy slotted a ball inside to where Bryce N somehow flicked it just over the tall keepers head.  Bryce was bit out of place early, saying that wearing matching cleats takes away from his game.  Bryce was seen in Dick’s Sporting last week throwing a tantrum in the shoe department when learning that they don’t supply shoppers with a color chart.   Jake S made a tremendous save early to keep the game tied, and the Devils maintained a solid advantage in possession.  The SAC club was formidable in the back and withstood many a rush from Darian, Andrew, Mike, Brian and Bryant.  Justin was simply the man in the back, and rumors of his being transferred for 4.5M are rubbish according to the Red Devils staff.  Gabe S,  on loan from MPS, along with Sam C, completely slammed the door to the outside flanks, leaving SAC with no choice but to go up the middle against the Murderers Row of Dan, George, and Justin.  Up next the Devils take on Benfica, an old Maple foe from the fall.
